ROCKLAND – The following indictments, against nine defendants, were entered by a Knox County grand jury on January 7. An indictment does not imply guilt.
Dorian Ames, 27, of Vinalhaven, reckless driving with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, criminal threat with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief and unloading a firearm near a dwelling in Vinalhaven on September 16, 2019. Ames was arrested on charges by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. He is accused of having discharged a firearm within 100 meters of a private residence. Ames is prohibited from owning a firearm due to an earlier conviction in 2015 of terrorist domestic violence.
Andrew Black, 56, of Tenants Harbor, two counts of aggravated drug trafficking (heroin and / or fentanyl), importation of drugs, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, all occurring in St. George November 6; criminal confiscation of $ 936 and a firearm in St. George on November 6, 2019.
Nicholas J. Carpenter, 33, of Thomaston, aggravated assault and criminal duress for allegedly attempting to suffocate a woman in Camden on November 9, 2019.
Paul L. Estes, 30, of St. George, trading a worthless instrument, identified as an NSF check, written for $ 1,390 to a lumber company in Warren on July 17, 2019.
Mark L. Harding, 46, of Rockland, two counts of theft by unauthorized take or transfer at Thomaston on February 12, 2019. He is accused of stealing tools and other sundries from a recycling company in Thomaston .
Lyndon R. Harrington, 45, of Friendship and Jason T. Weeks, 41, of Friendship were both charged with aggravated criminal mischief and theft by unauthorized take or transfer for allegedly sinking a lobster boat Rotten pork. Maine Marine Patrol located the submerged boat outside the harbor after the owner reported to police that the boat was missing. When the boat was found there were several holes in the hull and it was determined that they were not natural or related to weather conditions. The two men are accused of having acted together in the sinking of the boat.
Jason D. Patterson, 47, of Rockland, assaulted for domestic violence in Rockland on November 2, 2019.
Ronald M. Shellman, 46 from Waldoboro, drug theft (buprenorphine), illegal drug possession (buprenorphine) and felon operating under the influence in Rockland on September 8, 2019. Shellman did not submit to a test, according to the police.
