Ontario’s premier boat show, the Port Credit Afloat Boat Show, is celebrating its 20th anniversary August 27-29, 2010. Once again, it will be held at Port Credit Marina – The Boating Super Center – in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Port Credit Afloat Boat Show is the only boat show that features both new AND used motor and sailboats in the water and on the hard.

“It’s a boat show for boaters – which is produced by boaters. And we have a boat for all budgets. says Lori Mason, director of the show.

Stroll along the docks of Port Credit Marina and discover the new sailboats from Beneteau, Jeanneau, Delphia, Hansa, J-Boats, Hunter, Dufour, C&C, Tartan and Catalina. On the power side, Sandy Cove Marine will preview the Chaparral range and Humber Boats will return with the ever popular “eco-boat” – the Humber Foton.

And these are just a few of the boat lines booked so far! Visitors can expect to see many used boats, as well as a large display of used boat listings from yacht brokers.

On disk, land-based exhibits featuring marine equipment, insurance, finance, charters, sailing schools, boat associations, canvas manufacturers and as well as new products never before exhibited to the maritime industry . Boaters who have yet to pass the operator proficiency test will be able to take the test at the lounge, with Boat Smart. Discover Boating will be on hand to answer all of your questions on how to get started in boating.

Boaters who want more information on boating on the Inter-Coastal Waterway, the Caribbean or France can consult the “Speaker’s Tent” sponsored by Informedboater.com. Informedboater.com has a number of exciting seminars planned, including DIY seminars, which will run throughout the show.

By popular demand, The Store sponsored CONSIGNMENT TENT, Mason’s Chandlery is back. Boaters who need to dispose of lightly used boat items are encouraged to bring them to the store prior to the show. Store staff sell it on their behalf at the boat show consignment tent. Forty percent of the proceeds go to local youth sailing programs.

“We have some special surprises planned for our 20th anniversary. Last year we sold docks and we plan to do the same this year, and expand our land display features of Mason reports.
